Battleship Island is an abandoned mining colony in the Sumo-nada Sea, Japan. Formerly operated by the Mitsubishi Corporation. much of it is located on reclaimed land surrounding a central rock. At one time it was the most densely populated place on earth. In 1974 it was vacated in the space of two days.
